Host a node
Bring the hackathon to your city.
A node is a room, a coordinator and a local sponsor. We handle everything else centrally, because that's the part that took years to get right.
What you bring.
A room
Tables, power and a reliable connection, with space for at least twenty people. A university lab, a library or a partner's office all work fine. It doesn't need to be impressive.
A local coordinator
One person who's in the room all day, runs the local briefing and is the main contact for the case managers.
A local sponsor
An organisation that will vouch for your node: a university, a professional body, an investigative unit or a nonprofit already working in this area.
Local legal advice
Someone who can tell your teams what they're legally allowed to collect where they are. If you don't have anyone, we'll help you find them.
What we bring.
- The cases, prepared with the agencies that hold the files
- Case managers, and the process they use to check every submission
- The platform, hosted to meet your region's data rules
- Training materials, the opening briefing and the schedule for the day
- Scoring, the report template and the handover to the agencies
- The brand, and a network of people who've done this before
Hosting is free. Participants buy tickets, and those cover the infrastructure, the venues and the communications, with something left over for the next event.

We check that we have cases suited to your region and talk through any local constraints.

Your city goes on the map, registration opens there, and we brief your coordinator.

Dry run
Your coordinator goes through the platform with a case manager: how submissions come in and how they're checked.
- On the day
You run the room
Local briefing at nine. We handle the cases, the case managers and the handover.
